What is Bifrost?
Maxim AI's Go-based Bifrost supports providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex AI and Ollama, with virtual keys, caching, observability and MCP gateway features. It is gateway software rather than a hosted reseller of model credits. Self-hosting is not automatically secure: the quickstart says a fresh instance has no dashboard password. Configure authentication, TLS and durable storage before network exposure. Operators manage logs; external model calls still transmit content.
What can you use Bifrost for?
- Access supported models through an API
- Manage model usage and capacity
- Review data handling and deployment options
Bifrost pricing and usage limits
The Apache-2.0 core is free software. Enterprise features and support require a quote. Hosting, operations and upstream model usage remain separate costs.
This site never quotes prices. Confirm amounts on the official site.

FAQ
Why does every API relay show a disclaimer?
A relay handles keys, data, and charges. This directory has not audited those sites. The fixed line is: Unverified, not an endorsement. Assess the risk yourself; you are responsible for your own data and funds.
Can an API relay be recommended or sponsored?
No. An API relay cannot be featured or sponsored and never appears in a comparison, and the relay category has no sponsor slot.
